Tips For Creating Fall Foliage
When summer ends, many people think the fun is over. My husband becomes a grump, and acts as if someone has just dumped three feet of snow on his head. Honestly, I love fall, and I don’t understand why my husband becomes so despondent about things. Fall isn’t really the end of summer, though it does signal the end of really hot days. There are still plenty of warm days to be enjoyed during fall, and of course, don’t forget about fall foliage. There may be nothing more beautiful than the leaves as they go through shades of yellow, red, and orange.
No matter how much my husband complains I know he loves to see the fall foliage too. We sometimes take a drive just to look around us. We are lucky that we live where we do. The mountains of northern PA and central NY offer some of the most beautiful fall foliage I have ever seen. This beauty often lasts for a few weeks, and there are always tourists in the area that have come just to see the fall foliage that is unique to our northern climate. As the days turn colder, the trees begin to prepare for winter. As the leaves die off, they change colors. Because there are so many different types of trees, the resulting mix of colors on the mountainside is a sight to behold indeed.
If you really want to enjoy all that fall foliage has to offer, you can find a place to stay in the middle of it all. There are many great bed and breakfast establishments throughout the US that are situated right smack in the middle of the beautiful changing colors. You may find that a weekend stay in a bed and breakfast to admire the fall foliage won’t cost you very much, and will be very soothing for your soul. You can find something near town with a great view, or you can find something right on the mountain.
If you can’t travel to see the fall foliage, you can travel via your computer. Many people will take photos of the changing trees in their backyards and post them online for all to see. A simple search for fall foliage should yield you some great photos to look at. If you fall in love with a picture, go ahead and save it as your desktop so you can enjoy the fall foliage as often and for as long as you would like.
